Mr.K.Soundappa Chettiyar founded "Vinayaga Silks" to trade silk garments during 1950s at Salem. As the time went by, it became an eminent manufacturer of silks when his son, Mr.S.Sithuraj learnt the technique of silk manufacture from his father and started his own silk manufacturing company named "Dhamodharan Silks and Prabhu Textiles".
